February is here and with it comes its birthstone, the beautiful purple amethyst. The name “Amethyst” actually comes from the Ancient Greek meaning “not intoxicated”, a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. People wore amethysts and made drinking vessels out of it to prevent them from getting drunk.
Magical powers or not, these amethyst rings are gorgeous enough to stand on their own.
