Today we’re excited to feature the rings of a San Francisco bride of 2 years whose platinum cushion cut with bezel setting combined with the princess cut eternity band is definitely a show stopper. We love that the bands are thick and almost chunky – makes for a unique and eye popping set!

Today’s ring comes from a San Francisco bride married in October of 2006. From the moment we saw this ring, we fell in love not only because of the beautiful solitaire, but because it is paired with one of our favorite settings – the micro pave. We love the intricacy and delicacy of a micro pave band, and love how the band appears to be encrusted with diamonds. The glitter this ring exudes is unbelievable. We love it!

Today's ring is a classic round brilliant with a 4 prong setting sent to us by a bride-to-be who will be celebrating her wedding this October on a very auspicious day - 10/10/10. What a fabulous day to get married, and definitely a dazzling ring.

Jeweler: Van Cleef & Arpels
An Engagement Story: After four months of dating my Viking proposed at The Palace after flying my parents halfway around the world for the sole purpose of asking for my hand. Even without this amazing ring (which he returned for another one and ended up going back to this one!), I would have said yes. I'm marrying my best friend in Italy on 10.10.10.
Today’s ring belongs to a Los Angeles bride of four years. Her fingers are all sparkles with this beautiful radiant cut solitaire. The radiant cut is one of our favorite cuts because it is the most brilliant of the square cut diamonds. It boasts the beautiful combination of the classic emerald cut and the sparkle of the round brilliant. This cut, as you can see, is very dramatic as a solitaire and simply beautiful.
Cut: Radiant solitaire
Carat: 2+
Setting: 4 prong setting in platumin
Jeweler: stone from Barry Kagasoff Jewelers, Los Angeles and setting from Vartan’s Fine Jewelry, Los Angeles
Wedding band: platinum, also from Vartan’s Fine Jewelry, Los Angeles
About the ring: I didn’t know anything about diamonds or what kind I liked before I got engaged, so my husband had no hints or ideas whatsoever going into it. But lucky for me, he’s the kind of person who does extensive research before buying anything, and after a lot of thought, he decided that a radiant cut solitaire would be perfect for me. He was right! I love my ring and still find myself every now and then staring at it like it was the day he gave it to me. I decided on an unadorned platinum wedding band because I thought the simplicity of it highlighted the raised solitaire stone and showed off its beauty in a classy and timeless way.
This stunning heirloom diamond engagement ring has maintained the same setting and band size for over three generations. Unlike her sister, this bride decided to keep the original setting of the diamond as it was so timeless and elegant. The round brilliant center diamond paired with the tapered baguettes make a dazzling combination, maintaining a definite symmetry and balance. This ring manages to uphold a certain charm and quality that is visible to any onlooker.
Heirloom rings that are untouched like this are very unique. Oftentimes, heirloom rings contain stones that have been fashioned from other pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces, earrings, brooches etc. Split rings, where the diamonds from one heirloom has been refashioned and used into multiple rings, are common as well.
Cut: Round Brilliant with Tapered Baguettes
Carat: 4.10 center + 0.50 baguettes
Setting: Four prong and end-prong set in platinum
Jeweler: Harry Winston
About this Ring: This ring was my maternal grandmother’s engagement ring, given to her by her second husband in 1965. My mom inherited the ring when her mother passed and saved it for my engagement. The ring happened to fit perfectly; I did not even have to have it sized!
