We have a guest post from our sister and lover of high fashion, Alessandra Perez-Rubio, who today shares with you some details on Kate Moss’ wedding style.
The fashion Icon of our generation, Kate Moss, married her long time rocker boyfriend, Jamie Hince, of the Kills, on July 1st 2011 in Southrop, England. For months and months the designer of her dress has been much speculated. Interestingly enough, Moss, who had the pick of the litter of fashion designer royalty vying for the job, decided on the recently shamed and former creative director of Christian Dior, John Galliano, who was fired for his publicized anti-semetic and racial slurs earlier this year.
The dress looked like it was from another era, the 1920’s. It was off white, and had beautiful embroidered and beaded tool, a form fitting bodice with a sheer back, a silver embroidered skirt and train, and lastly a veil fastened with flowers pinned to each side of her head. However, as a true high fashionista, Kate dawned multiple frocks on her big day, changing outfits twice during the reception – one lighter silk dress for the first dance, and another mini dress for the after party – both designed by her close friend Stella McCartney. McCartney also designed the brides going away suit, what Moss wore when she jet off to her honeymoon with Hince in the French Riviera.
My favorite part of her whole ensemble, aside from her blue lined Manolo Pumps, was her vintage 1920’s engagement ring (which she actually almost lost at the Glastonbury Music Festival a few months prior, only to find it at the bottom of her bag). It is speculated that the ring was purchased at Bond Street Jewellers, a favorite jeweler of Moss herself.
